Summary

The Department of the Air Force is writing to the National Park Service Intermountain Regional Office to notify them of a proposal to remove Building 1281 from the list of eligible properties for historic recognition. Included in the letter is the historic background on the structure as well as the integrity of the building in regards to its eligibility to be on the National Register of Historic Places.

A group of correspondence notifying participating parties that Fort Sam Houston is proposing to remove building 1281 from the list of eligible properties. The building is currently being used as a recreation facility/gymnasium and was constructed in 1945. The building is currently listed as a property eligible for the National Register of Historic Places in the current Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan for Fort Sam Houston.
