Summary

Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston is proposing an undertaking to replace the duck pond located within the Quadrangle, building 16. The area of potential effect is the Quadrangle. Constructed in 1876, the Quadrangle grounds include a duck pond that dates to the early 1900s. After careful examination of this proposal, the FSH Cultural Resource Staff has determined this undertaking will result in no adverse effect. This determination is based on the premise that the replacement pond will maintain this important element that is an important contributing feature to the historic landscape that is the Quadrangle.
