Letter from the Environmental Division to the Texas Historical Commission, Fort Sam Houston, Texas

Year: 2011

Summary

Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, is proposing an undertaking to alter the wrought iron gate and handrail that is currently installed in the sally port of the Quadrangle (building 16) at Fort Sam Houston. The Quadrangle is the oldest structure on Fort Sam Houston and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

After careful examination of this proposal, the JB-SA Cultural Resource Staff has determined this undertaking will result in no adverse effect. This determination is based on the fact that the alterations will be to elements not part of the original structure and that are not character defining features.
