Part of the MAC Lab project page (DRAFT) project
Phase II archaeological studies were undertaken at seven sites within the Army Research Laboratory, Blossom Point Field Test Facility, in Charles County, Maryland. Work was conducted to partially satisfy requirements of the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 110) and the Maryland Historical Trust Act. Work included archival research for all the sites and excavations at five of the sites (all except for 18CH218 and 18CH222). Sites determined eligible for the National Register are 18CH156, 18CH162, and 18CH227. The remaining sites are recommended as not eligible. Sites are prehistoric shell middens; sites 18CH162 and 18CH227 also have 18th-century historic components.
