Summary

Site 44FX113 is located in Fairfax County, Virginia on the upland portion of the Coastal Plain Province. Within the site is an isolated planting bed. Although the site is historic, there are no records indicating the use of an isolated planting bed as a flower garden, kitchen garden, or a combination of the two. A sediment sample was taken from the planting bed situated in Feature 17-5 in Unit S98W25 approximately 1.25 feet beneath the modern ground surface and within 100 feet of a domestic residence for pollen analysis.
