Summary
This collection is referred to as "Archaeological Investigation of Site 46SU633 1997.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is a quarter (0.25) of a linear inch.
The documents date from May 1996 to August 1999 and were in overall good condition. The management summary dates to October 1997, which explains the date in the project name. The management summary focused on the investigation at sites 46SU633 and 46SU634, but referenced additional sites in the project vicinity; however, the associated artifact collection only pertains to site 46SU633 and this is reflected in the project name. The prehistoric artifact inventory from the affiliated artifact collection required inclusion within the document collection. The document was removed from the artifact box, cleaned, and integrated into the investigation’s Background Records folder (2/2). The document contained a metal contaminant, which was removed using a microspatula.
The 46SU633 site form and the management summary were downloaded from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office Interactive Map Viewer (http://157.182.4.178/shpo/); however, a digital copy of the final report was not available. The documents were printed on acid-free paper and inserted into the collection’s Administrative Records folder (1/1) and Report Records folder (3/1), respectively.
