Cultural Resources Management Plan for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

Author(s): Bryan R. Henderson

Year: 1998

Summary

The Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) is a planning document used to manage an installation's cultural resources management program. This plan outlines the cultural and historical resources of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (SJAFB), Dare County Range (DCR), Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area (FFAFRA), and plans for management of those resources in accordance with AFI 32-7065. All three facilities have been surveyed for cultural and historical sites, locations, structures, and objects. SJAFB and DCR contain nothing which is eligible for listing in the National Register, and there is no indication of any future eligibility of any sites or locations presently on those installations. FFAFRA contains one potentially eligible site. There are no known Native American burial or sacred areas on base property. As a result of all of the intensive studies and surveys, it is believed that cultural and historical compliance will not in any way affect the mission of the base and its units now or in the foreseeable future.
