Summary

The Desert Research Institute (DRI) received a request from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Site Office (NNSA/NSO) to conduct a Class III cultural resources inventory of the proposed Underground Test Area EREC- 15 Well Pad and Access Road, Range EC South, Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), Nye County, Nevada (Figures 1-2). On November 16, 2009, DRI archaeologists and the American Indian Coordinator surveyed the proposed well pad and access road and found eight isolated artifacts. DRI recommends that the project proceed as planned as long as all activities remain within the surveyed area.
