Summary
In response to a request (#94-013} from the Department of Energy's Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project Office (YMPO), archaeologists from the Desert Research Institute (DRI) conducted a Class III cultural resources reconnaissance of the proposed location for trench GDF-T1 . The project area access route and boundaries were marked by YMPO staff prior to survey with yellow environmental flagging tape. No archaeological sites are previously known from the project area, and no new archaeological sites were found as a result of this reconnaissance.
