Areas of survey included a pad, a powerline/access road connecting to an existing powerline and maintained gravel road north of the project area, and a cable way between the existing Site 5 and Site 5 West. All three areas were surveyed for cultural resources by pedestrian transects spaced 15 m ( 49 ft) apart. The cultural resources reconnaissance found one small locality (26NY8848) and two isolated artifacts (110994HD01 and 110994HD02). No buildings, structures, or foundations were identified within the project boundaries. A small knapping station (26NY8855) was found just south of the existing Site 5 facility. None of the resources are recommended to be eligible to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
