Summary

This report provides an inventory and analysis of structures built or in use at Fort Richardson during the Cold War (1946–1991). It finds that the structures remaining from Cold War-era Fort Richardson, although they played some role in the defense of America, are nonetheless standard base operations structures of the type found on military bases throughout the United States and that they do not have a specific and historically important association with Cold War-era Alaska; thus, they are not eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
