Historic American Engineering Record of Complex 13, 26, 36 Cape Canaveral Air Station, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Summary

The following report contains historical, architectural, and photographic documentation of Launch Complex 13, 26, and 36 at Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida. All three complexes were constructed in the late 1950s as part of a national effort begun during the Kennedy administration to send man into space. These three sites are some of the less altered complexes from this era of space exploration. The complexes vividly illustrate the developments in space technology from the early Redstone rockets to the present day Atlas-Centaur launch vehicles. CCAS illustrates the development of space technology from unmanned missile launches to manned missions.
