Addendum Corridor Study NRO Substation at Cape Canaveral, Brevard County, Florida

Author(s): Greg C. Smith

Year: 2006

Summary

On November 9, 2006, New South Associates (NSA) conducted an intensive cultural resource assessment survey of an approximately 205-meter long by 30-meter wide proposed FP&L powerline corridor on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAAFS) between the Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean in Brevard County, Florida. The archaeological survey was performed at the request of SRS Technologies (SRS) on behalf of CCAFS. The new corridor will serve to connect the 3-acre substation parcel with the existing Florida Power & Light (FP&L) corridor, both previously surveyed by NSA with negative results (Smith 2006). This document is meant to serve as an Addendum to the previous report on the adjacent property. To summarize results, all testing along the added corridor was negative and no further work was recommended.
