Summary

This report presents the results of a remote sensing survey in support of a The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers–Jacksonville District project to dredge the nearshore north of Port Canaveral and place dredged material at the nearshore south of Port Canaveral. Fieldwork was comprised of a magnetometer, side scan sonar, and a sub bottom profiler survey. A total of 212 magnetic anomalies, four sidescan sonar targets, and nosub bottom paleofeature were recorded during the survey. Comprehensive analysis of data indicated two targets consisting of anomaly clusters are considered to have the potential to represent significant historic cultural resources. They were recommended for avoidance.
