Summary

The objectives of the mitigation were to identify, record, and collect prehistoric and historic cultural materials from intact deposits present in the site. One of the results of the 2000 Phase I archaeology field investigation, was the discovery of the remains of a potential prehistoric house structure. The goal of the oral history research was to begin documentation of the interactions of the Wales Inupiat community with the Tin City area, taking into account the various activities that have constituted those interactions over time.
