Summary
"From Sand to Moondust" covers the history and activities of the Cape Canaveral area through July 1971, the Apollo 15 mission. It was reprinted unrevised for use as a historical research resource. In November 1963 Cape Canaveral was renamed Cape Kennedy in honor of the late President John F. Kennedy, hence the reference to Cape Kennedy Air Force State throughout. In October 1973, Cape Kennedy was legislated back to Cape Canaveral and the Air Force Station was renamed Cape Canaveral AFS effective 1974.
