Summary

Revised draft: From September 13 through September 17, 2010, and again on April 10, 2012, archaeologists from Geo-Marine, Inc., conducted limited subsurface testing at four previously recorded sites: one prehistoric site (LA 66373) and three historic sites (LA 133088, 110524, and 110530) located on Melrose Air Force Range (MAFR), Roosevelt County, New Mexico. Due to the presence of intact features and buried cultural deposits, homestead sites LA 110524 and LA 110530 were recommended eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) under Criterion D because of their potential to yield important information concerning the early twentieth-century settlement of eastern New Mexico. The other two sites were recommended not eligible.
