Archaeological Subsurface Integrity and Damage Assessment of Sites LA 66373, LA110524, and LA110530 and LA 113088 on Melrose Air Force Range, Curry and Roosevelt Counties, New Mexico
Summary
First draft: From September 13 through September 17, 2010, archaeologists from Geo-Marine, Inc., conducted limited subsurface testing at four previously recorded sites: one prehistoric site (LA 66373) and three historic sites (LA 133088, LA 110524, and LA 110530) located on Melrose Air Force Range, Roosevelt County, New Mexico. Due to the presence of intact features and deposits, sites LA 110524 and LA 110530 were recommended eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) because of their potential to yield important information concerning the early twentieth-century settlement of eastern New Mexico. The other two sites were recommended not eligible.
