Results of Archaeological and Cultural Resources Survey of the Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute (ITRI) Site and the Proposed Natural Gas Pipeline/Fiberoptic Line Route

Summary

This report presents the results of an archaeological survey in support of a natural gas pipeline and fiber optic communications line proposed by the Inhalation Toxicology Research Institute (ITRI). The objective of the surveys was to gather information on the cultural resources present at the ITRI site and along the proposed pipeline/fiberoptic line route for inclusion in ITRI's NEPA documents. Descriptive summaries of approximately 40 sites in the vicinity of the proposed activities were collected to evaluate the presence of already-known archaeological materials at the ITRI site and along the proposed route and to assess the nature and settlement distributions of archaeological and historical materials in the region. No culturally significant features or materials were found within the boundaries of the ITRI facility or the proposed pipeline/fiberoptic line route.
