Summary

An archaeological survey of approximately 2.9 acres of property situated within Area I, Sandia National Laboratories, Kirtland Air Force Base, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, yielded no cultural resources. The area surveyed is located on the western piedmont of the Manzano Mountains, south of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The survey was conducted on an approximate 0.98 kilometer ( 0.61 mi) alignment proposed for construction of an overhead powerline segment. No significant artifacts or cultural features were observed within this proposed alignment. Cultural resource clearance is recommended for construction of this section of overhead powerline as no significant cultural resources will be effected by this proposed undertaking.
