Summary

Butler Service Group, Inc. (BSG), has completed a 100 percent pedestrian cultural resources survey and records review for approximately 2,445.4 acres of property situated on Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), New Mexico. The survey and records review resulted in the documentation of 31 new sites, 39 previously recorded sites, and 128 isolated occurrences from the Sandia National Laboratory/New Mexico Environmental Restoration Program (SNL/NM ER) sites. One prehistoric site (LA 107475), eight historic sites (LA 103140, LA 103141, LA 103170, LA 103174, LA 107478, LA 107480, LA 107481, and LA 107500), three prehistoric/historic sites (LA 81725, LA 101262, and LA 107495), and all of the isolated occurrences are no longer thought to be significant, as their research potential has been mitigated through recordation.

Twenty-nine of the prehistoric sites, 15 of the historic sites, 13 of the historic/prehistoric sites, and the one site of unknown temporal affiliation are thought to be eligible or potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
