Class III Cultural Resources Inventory Survey Proposed 9.4-Acre Fire Training Facility Kirtland Air Force Base, Bernalillo County, New Mexico

Summary

An archaeological inventory survey was completed on a 9.3 acre (3.79 ha) parcel of land located on Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The records search using the Archaeological Resources Management System (ARMS) at the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Division indicated that at least six archaeological surveys have been completed in the vicinity of the current project and that four known archaeological resources exist within a 1-mile radius of the proposed project area.

No significant cultural resources were found during the inventory survey. Considerable recent historic debris and extensive previous land modifications were found. Based on the results of the record search and the inventory survey, it is recommended that no further archaeological studies be completed in regards to the current proposed project.
