Archaeological Investigations for Proposed Marksmanship Training Facility, Tennessee Army National Guard, at Arnold Air Force Base
Author(s): Shawn Chapman
Year: 2007
Summary
Summary of archaeological investigations in support of the construction of proposed marksmanship training facility for the Tennessee Army National Guard. Investigations included a review of the existing site records and visual inspection. Records search indicated two sites are located within one mile of the project area but neither were impacted by the undertaking. Visual inspection showed that the project area has been subjected to heavy disturbance in the past, mainly from the use of the area during the Camp Forrest era. No archaeological sites were recorded as a result of this investigation. The area is recommended cleared from a cultural resources perspective.
