Summary

Southeastern Archaeological Research, Inc. (SEARCH) has completed a Phase 1 cultural resource survey of the above referenced project on behalf of GeoSyntec Consultants, acting as consultant to Cingular and Crown Castle International. As part of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permitting process for cell towers as required by the National Environmental Protection Act, Cingular must consider the effects of the proposed undertaking on cultural resources. The purpose of this survey was to determine whether any cultural resources (archaeological sites and historic structures) would be effected by construction of the proposed tower. The proposed cell tower is located on the grounds of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on the Canaveral Peninsula.
