Summary

Heartland Treasure Quest, Inc. (HTQ) has continued as "work in progress" over the last fifteen years to refine the exploration, and in 2013-2014 diligently conducted historic assessment, terrestrial, and submerged cultural resources investigation with four Contractors, five vessels, one helicopter at the same time. This is relative to a suspected early 18th-century shipwreck(s) located off Cocoa, Satellite and Melbourne Beach, Brevard County, Florida in an effort to locate, identify, and assess the potential significance of cultural resources within the Project area E-155F. More specifically the investigation has previously included extensive Spanish, Cuban and French archival research, terrestrial cultural resources overview, and a remote sensing survey and resurveys of mid E-155F, in an effort to locate associated shipwreck material, analysis and interpretation of remote sensing data, followed by report preparation to meet the Florida Division of Historical Resources, Bureau of Archaeological Research and US Army Corp's stringent requirements.
