Summary

The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) General Plan (Plan) presents a condensed picture of the present and future capability of the installation to support the 45th Space Wing (45 SW) mission and to ensure United States (U.S.) access to space.

The Plan is a summary document that includes a systematic framework of comprehensive planning information with regard to short term and long term installation development. It provides information at an appropriate level of detail for command and other decision makers to understand the character and structure of the installation and its development potential.

The Plan incorporates currently identified projects, anticipates future program requirements, and ensures compliance with applicable Federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies. The Plan summarizes an assessment of the installation’s infrastructure, natural resources and land uses for the purpose of gauging development potential. The Plan is a roadmap that guides the 45 SW to efficiently utilize land, allocate infrastructure resources and provide flexibility to meet current and evolving mission requirements.
