Isolate record for VAFB-ISO-028
Year: 2001
Summary
This document is the isolated find record for VAFB-ISO-028. The artifact was one secondary flake fragment originally recorded by R. Dugger in 1988. Four STPs were excavated on 12 March 2001. A single flake was recovered from the 20-40 cm level of STP 3. Stratigraphically the flake was associated with disturbed overburden. The flake is similar to material available in the railroad gravel nearby. Given the disturbed context of the flake and the presence of mechanically-flaked chert in the railroad fill, it is highly likely that the flake found during testing is associated with the railroad fill. No cultural materials were found in undisturbed sediments.
