Summary

The primary purpose of this plan is to outline Joint Base Andrews (JB Andrews) approach to maintaining long-term relationships with federally recognized tribes. This plan has been prepared in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 4710.02, DoD Interactions with Federally Recognized Tribes, and Department of the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 90-2002 Interactions with Federally Recognized Tribes, which direct all echelons to build relationships and conduct consultation with federally recognized American Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Villages and Native Hawaiian Organizations as required by federal laws and regulations, Executive Orders, and Presidential Memoranda. DAFI 90-2002 requires each installation to create an Installation Tribal Relations Plan (ITRP) as an appendix to its Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) and to update the ITRP annually.
