Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan for Edwards Air Force Base, California, Volume I and II

Summary

This annual update of the Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) has been prepared by Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), California, as required by Air Force Instruction 32-7065, Integrated Cultural Resources Management. The ICRMP is based on cultural resource management principles and identifies responsibilities for the management of cultural resources, land use and mission activities and their potential effects on the environment, descriptions of the prehistoric, historic and military past, mission impacts on cultural resources, cultural resource management practice, cultural resource program management, and management goals and objectives. The ICRMP also includes specific management methods, schedules of activities and projects, responsibilities of decision makers, monitoring systems, protection and enforcement, land use restrictions, and cultural resources and environmental requirements as well as professional and technical manpower.

This ICRMP will be used by Edwards AFB personnel in support of the management of the installation’s cultural resources. It serves as the guiding document integrating the stewardship of the cultural resources with the mission of the installation.

Volume 1 includes the full report and Volume II includes Appendices A-N. The appendices cover the cultural resource program goals and objectives, archaeological sites, research questions, and building the database.
