Summary

This report is of a cultural resource survey of Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base, El Paso County, Colorado. The purpose of the survey is to identify all cultural resources on the property and to obtain cultural resources clearance for the construction of a boundary fence around the installation.

Investigations for the survey include a literature search, a review of records at applicable federal offices, and a field survey. The field surveyed was intensive for areas of the installation below 7100' elevation, and a sample of those areas above 7100' elevation. Only one resource was located: a prehistoric isolated find.

No resources are considered eligible for nomination to the National register. No data was discovered that will add significantly to the knowledge of Colorado history or prehistory. The report recommends cultural resource clearance for the construction of the boundary fence.
