Summary

This Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) was developed to provide for effective management and protection of cultural resources at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station. It summarizes the history and prehistory of the installation, and reviews past historical and archaeological survey efforts. It outlines and assigns responsibilities for the management of cultural resources, discusses related concerns, and provides standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will help to preserve the cultural resources of the installation within the context of the mission. This ICRMP includes a brief historical context, a description of facility components, identification of historic preservation issues and requirements, description of the compliance and consultation process under Section 106 of the NHPA, SOPs relevant to historic resources, and contact information for key persons who may be involved in Section 106 compliance and consultation.
