Results of a Five-Year Monitoring Program of Six Archaeological Sites for the Sierra Pacific Falcon Project

Part of the BLM Utah Project Metadata project

Year: 2011

Summary

From July 2005 to November 2009, six archaeological sites were annually visited by Summit Envirosolutions, Inc. (Summit) to monitor their condition after the completion of the Falcon transmission line. The purpose of the monitoring program was meant to provide documentation of any cumulative post-construction effects to the selected sites. This was to be used in the future to evaluate the effects that increased visibility and/or accessibility may have on the disturbance, inadvertently and/or deliberately, to archaeological resources along similar linear projects.

Overall, the monitoring program suggests that the construction of the transmission line did not encourage disturbances to the six archaeological sites through increased accessibility or visibility of the line.
