The U.S. Navy contracted A.D. Marble & Associates, Inc. to complete HABS/HAER Level II documentation for the proposed demolition of Building 26, a contributing element of the Lighter-Than-Air Historic District at Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, Jackson and Manchester Townships and Lakehurst Borough, Ocean County, New Jersey. The study was completed in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and National Park Service guidelines. The final documentation includes a historic report, photographs of the facility, and architectural drawings. The documentation includes two volumes. Volume I contains a base-wide history of NAES Lakehurst. Volume II contains a summary history of the Lighter-Than-Air program, as well as a Building 26 historic context and condition assessment report, photograph contact sheets of the facility, and architectural drawings.
