Summary

At the request of Salt River Project (SRP), the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) Cultural Resource Management Program (CRMP) completed a Class I (records search) cultural resources survey for the proposed renewal of a right-of-way easement along the existing 500kV Palo Verde to Kyrene transmission line in Laveen and adjacent to District 6 of the GRIC, Maricopa County, Arizona. The objective of the review was to assess the potential adverse effect of continued use of the easement on cultural resources listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). This letter summarizes the results of the records review and provides cultural resources management recommendations. These results and recommendations have been reviewed by the GRIC Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO; see enclosed concurrence).
