Summary
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is planning to widen about 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) of Ellsworth Road to six lanes from near the Hunt Highway (just north of Empire Boulevard) north to Cloud Road. The project will involve construction of a new aggregate base and asphaltic concrete; bike lanes; a raised median; curb, gutter, and scupper structures; sidewalks; and lighting arrays. MCDOT retained URS Corporation to conduct a cultural resource study to provide assistance in addressing the Arizona Antiquities Act.
