An Archaeological Survey and Testing Program for a Proposed U.S. Air Force Practice Bombing Range, McGregor Range, New Mexico
Part of the Holloman Air Force Base Resources project
Year: 1989
Summary
The goal of the survey was to locate an area where the proposed range would have minimum or no impact upon historic resources in the area. An area approximately 8.5 sq. km. was surveyed, and 105 prehistoric archaeological sites were recorded. After reviewing the data and consulting with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Air Force, a portion of the surveyed area was selected for more intensive investigation.
