Summary
This report is a supplement to the Final Report, Cultural Resource Survey of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), El Paso County, Colorado, August 1996. It describes the salvage excavation of a prehistoric hearth (5EP2016) discovered subsequent to the completion of the survey. Fieldwork was conducted on August 3-6, 1996. The site is evaluated as eligible for the NRHP under criterion D, with the potential to yield information important to our understanding of the prehistory of this region of Colorado.
