VAFB-1986-08: RE: Archaeological Surface Survey for a Portion of the MPS36 Electrical Power Line Project, Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA
Author(s): Robert O. Gibson
Year: 1986
Summary
This document is a letter report outlining results of an archaeological surface survey in the vicinity of a proposed power line between Building 21101 and Sky Screen Road on Vandenberg Air Force Base. Although only a single isolated chert flake was noted adjacent to the proposed power line corridor, vegetation prohibited adequate surface examination. There also exists a possibility of a buried cultural site in the area. At least one archaeological site (SBA)1868) located south of the project area contains probably Early period materials and increases the potential for comparable materials within the project area.
