Summary

This document is a letter from the California State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) related to the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Test Program. The letter 1) states that the SHPO has no further comments regarding the United States Air Force's (USAF) active tribal consultation process and historic property identification efforts, 2) states that based on the presumption that the USAF has finalized the undertaking's design, the SHPO has not further comments on the USAF's design parameters or its efforts to avoid, minimize or mitigate effects to historic properties, 3) states that the SHPO has no further comments on the USAF's cumulative effects analysis, and 4) provides concurrence that although the project was changed to reduce efforts to the archaeological resources, the undertaking still has an adverse effect on the built and subsurface resources… and based on the adverse effects requests the USAF provide a draft memorandum of agreement for review and to notify the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation to determine their interest in participating on the resolution of adverse effects.
