Summary

This document is a California State Historic Preservation Office letter regarding the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Test Program. The GBSD is a very complex project and this letter reflects that complexity. Briefly stated, the letter provides SHPO comment and/or concurrence on the Phase I and Phase 2 follow up information related to earlier consultation. The letter specifically states, 1) that the SHPO has no further comments regarding the built environment treatment plan, 2) that the SHPO has no further comments regarding the archaeological resources treatment plan, 3) that SHPO concurs with "as-needed improvements of 26 miles of conduit for communication lines, 4) that SHPO concurs that the project is not an adverse effect to CA-SBA-228/-513/-594/-722/-730/-739/-740/-743/-939/-941/-998/-1853/-1865/H /-2128/H /-2320/-2352/ and -2471, and CA-SBA-Z00012H (San Antonio Terrace Archaeological District), 5) that the SHPO has no further concerns or comments about built environment resources for Phase II, 6) there are no archaeological resources in the Area of Potential Effect for Phase II, 7) the construction of Launch Facilities 04 and 26 destroyed the archaeological deposits within the footprint of the facility, 8) the SHPO anticipates receiving a transmittal letter for Phase III by July 29, 2021, and 9) acknowledges that consultation for Phase IV has not yet been initiated.
