Summary
This letter constitutes continuing consultion between the Space Launch Delta 30 (SLD 30) of the United States Space Force at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians (Tribe), pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), regarding the proposed US Army Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) II Test Program. SLD 30 carried out a reasonable and good-faith cultural resources investigation that fulfills federal agency responsiblities pursuant to 36 CFR §800.4(a)-(d) and 36 CFR §800.5(a)-(d). SLD 30 identified the Area of Direct Impacts and then identified the Area of Potential Effects (APE). SLD 30 reached a Section 106 finding of no adverse effect to historic properties for this undertaking. SLD 30 recognizes that the Tribe may have additional concerns and, with this letter, is seeking any comments or concerns the Tribe may have about these or other cultural resources within the Area of Potential Effects.
