Isolate record for VAFB-ISO-949
Year: 2004
Summary
This document is the isolated find record for VAFB-ISO-949. The artifacts are two Monterey chert flakes. One flake was discovered during a pedestrian survey in January of 2004. Subsurface testing was initiated in the immediate area surrounding the isolate in February 2004 to determine if additional cultural material was present. Six shovel test pits (STPs) were excavated around the original flake, one of which yielded an additional flake. The second flake was discovered less than 10 feet from the original flake between 40 and 60 centimeters below the surface.
