Summary
This document is a letter initiating Section 106 consultation with the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians (Tribe) regarding the Outdoor Recreation Cabins Project (Project). Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) determined that the Project constitutes an undertaking subject to compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended. With this letter and the accompanying report, VAFB is initiating consultation with the Tribe regarding eligibility determinations and potential impacts to cultural resources for the Project.
