Bunyoro-Kitara Archaeological Survey POTTERY Analysis 1991 - Sites 68/2/1 and 68/2/2

Author(s): Peter Robertshaw

Year: 1991

Summary

These are scans of the recording forms used for pottery analysis in the field during archaeological reconnaissance in 1991 funded by the National Science Foundation (USA) and the National Geographic Society. This set of forms reports all pottery analyses of the sites located in 1991 on Uganda 1:50,000 map sheet 68/2 (Lusiba). Sites were assigned sequential numbers based on the map sheet beginning with Site 68/2/1. All the pottery analyses, carried out on sherds found on the surface of each site, were conducted at each archaeological site and the potsherds discarded on site.

More information on the results of the pottery analyses can be found in a journal article: Robertshaw, P. (1994) “Archaeological survey, ceramic analysis, and state formation in western Uganda,” African Archaeological Review 12:105-131.
