Summary

This document is a contractor generated letter report for a historic property inventory and an assessment of adverse effects associated with the proposed expansion of the current Gaseous Nitrogen Production Facility (Building 539). The purpose of the letter is to compile any prior or current studies performed in support of the facility expansion project as a single Section 106 and 110 compliance report. To support Section 106 compliance requirements, the 30th Civil Engineer Squadron, Installation Management Flight, Environmental Section, Environmental Assets (30 CES/CEIEA) at Vandenberg AFB retained Applied EarthWorks, Inc. to review the site record and excavation reports for CA-SBA-1145/H, conduct an archaeological surface survey of the proposed pad and access road locations, complete an archaeological subsurface survey of the proposed pad and access road locations to assess whether subsurface archaeological deposits exist, and prepare a letter report documenting the effort and the results. The report specifically examines project impacts and/or avoidance strategies for one archaeological site; CA-SBA-1145/H.
