VAFB-2018-07: DRAFT Vandenberg Air Force Base Historic District Inventory
Year: 2018
Summary
This document is a DRAFT report. The draft version of this report has been uploaded here because a final version has not been identified. The draft version of this report will be replaced with the final when the final version has been identified.
This DRAFT report describes the project areas and provides historical overviews, research design, and project methodology. The results are then summarized, followed by a comprehensive survey log that presents the survey conclusions for each historic district.
CH2M Hill, Inc. was retained by Cape Environmental Inc. to provide a comprehensive inventory of historic districts at Vandenberg Air Force Base. A primary objective of the inventory project was to consider the historic significance and criteria under which the districts were evaluated and account for district boundaries using previous intensive survey information. These efforts will enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and success of Vandenberg AFB’s cultural resources program in identifying and preserving historic buildings and structures and protecting the historic character of the base’s built environment.
