The Stone Camp Pueblo Research Project - Final Report
Author(s): J. Scott Courtright
Year: 2014
Summary
This final report presents the results of an independent research project that spanned an 8-year period. The Class III cultural resources survey of the approximate 603-acre study area resulted in the identification of 2 previously recorded sites—AR-03-12-01-560 and AR-03-12-01-630—and 162 newly recorded sites—AR-03-12-01-2012 to AR-03-12-01-2171, AR-03-12-01-2231 to AR-03-12-01-2232. An energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) sourcing study was also completed on the naturally occurring dacite that is prevalent within the study area. The results of the study have been presented at the Perry Mesa Symposium (2011), in the Perry Mesa Symposium Proceedings (2012), at the Pecos Conference (2008 and 2014), and in the Arizona Journal of Archaeology (2014). A presentation was made to the Desert Foothills Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society and a field trip was led in 2011.
