Summary
Cotton Textile, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #2733. Morris FS 5337. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. Large piece of cotton plain-weave cloth folded in half lengthwise and stitched up the side to make a baglike object. Intact section of apocynum? stitching present along one side. Remnants of stitching along the other. Very balanced weave. Wide fabric. Measurements: L 32.0, W 78.0 CM. Images: AZRU8-2733 A: folded, baglike, cotton plain-weave textile (with flash). Morris noted that Room 189 “contained the largest quantity of perishable objects from the Chaco period that have to date been taken from any chamber in the western half of the pueblo. [Later occupants] laid down a 1 to 3 inch floor of adobe upon the earlier refuse and a bin was built up in the northwest corner” (Morris1928:371).
