Summary
Mancos Black-on-white, bowl, Accession AZRU-00008 Catalog #2082. Morris FS 5245. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2011. Temper is sherd and porphyritic igneous rock suggesting manufacture in the central Mesa Verde region. Vessel is 70% restored with unknown adhesive. Measurements: 12.2 cm diameter, 6.9 cm height. Image AZRU8-2082 A: interior view showing painted design. Image AZRU8-2082 B: exterior view showing shape of bowl and painted design at rim. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation at a site 3/8 mile northeast of Aztec West Ruin; no further provenience description available.
