This is a discriminatory redlined map that separated neighborhoods depending on income, race and ethnicity within central Phoenix. It also states which schools that had black and brown students in attendance.

The data is from The Real Property Inventory Bureau of Foreign & Domestic Commerce, with each color indicating average monthly rental for each block. With rental classes indicated as follows: less than $10.00 a month is blue. $10.00 to $19.99 a month is yellow. $20.00 to $29.99 a month is orange. $30.00 to $49.99 a month is red. $50.00 and over a month is purple.

Block data figures are listed in the following order from top to bottom (the numbers in each block correspond to the list below)

1. The average rental for the block.

2. The total number of residential structures in the block (Figure in a circle).

3. The percent of the total number of residential structures under 15 years old.

4. The percent of the total number of dwelling units in the block that are owner occupied.

5. The percent of the total number of residential structures in the block that need major repairs or that are unfit for occupancy.

6. The percent of the total number of structures in the block that are used for commercial purposes.

7. The percent of the total number of dwelling units in the block that have no private baths.

8. The percent of the total number of persons living in the block that are of a race other than white.
